The weekly compendium 01/08/2014

Last week was a lighter one for us than usual due to me being in London for the best part of the week. However we did have another great interview, this time with Alter Der Ruine, for you to get your teeth into, so hopefully you weren't too lonely without us.

This week though has been a little more packed due to the fact that like a Muppet I managed to bang my knee up on Sunday afternoon and spent the next few days off work as the swelling went down. On the upside though I managed to edit another interview, this time with Be My Enemy's Phil Barry. As well as get caught up a bit on my review pile which included the DVD documentary 'Living The American Nightmare', and the new albums from Society 1, Cocksure, Virtual Terrorist, The Dreamside, and Mr Kitty. I even found time to drop in some news from Broken Links.

Of course over on Facebook the big news this week has been the question mark over this years inaugural Alt-Fest scheduled for a couple of weeks time. As far as we know some major names have announced its cancellation and the organisers will issue a statement on Monday. We won't be pulled into republishing unsubstantiated rumours, and are awaiting the official statement before anything goes on this site. Needless to say though we are just as confused as everyone else and hope that the statement will clear things up no matter what the outcome.

In more positive news on Facebook we saw a new live DVD from Wednesday 13. The early bird tickets for Resistanz 2015 are on sale now! It's only three weeks until Infest. the mighty 3TEETH are the first band to be announced for next year's Resistanz as well. There's also a new pledge campaign to fund Rob Zombie's next movie 31. We've had new teaser videos from Emigrate and Erasure. Finally the good people of Juggernaut Music Group have released a new free compilation to ease you out of the fest-stress.

Right, that's your lot for this week. Enjoy your weekend and we'll see you on Monday.
