It's the end of the
spookiest week in the calendar. Halloween night is over and Whitby
Goth Weekend is once again taking over the sleepy fishing town on the
North Yorkshire coast. If you're recovering from last night or still
getting ready to get your goth on at Whitby, why not sit back with
our weekly round-up?
On the main site it's
been a pretty news-heavy week with headlines courtesy of Nick Cave,
Dead When I Found Her, Artoffact Records, Alt-Fest, Skinny Puppy, EgoLikeness, and Rabia Sorda.
In social media we gave
our Tumblr followers a treat with a round-up of articles for
Halloween reading, as well as a present from H.P. Lovecraft.
While on Facebook, we
had new music videos from Erasure, Rabia Sorda and David Bowie. As
well as tour news from The Young Gods, Neil Gaiman's thoughts on Lou
Reed's passing, a song preview from Cease2xist, and the BBC's
Halloween tributes to all things Goth.
We also marked the 75th
anniversary of one of the greatest Halloween tricks ever perpetrated
courtesy of Orson Welles in his radio broadcast of War Of The Worlds
which panicked the USA on 30/10/1938. If you missed it, here it is
again...
